Home Inspections

Inspections Are Performed in Three Stages:

1. After the foundation and drain system is installed.
2. After framing and just before drywall.
3. After completion of final construction.

It is highly recommended that a homeowner engage an engineer inspector at the start of construction to avoid costly repair work in the future. Builders are more amenable to fixing defects during construction since the repair work is least expensive at this stage. Also, hidden defects may not be discovered when inspection is performed after final construction. Such defects include, but are not limited to, the foundation and foundation drain system, cracks in the walls and floor joists of a finished basement, and missing insulation in the walls. which cannot be detected after final construction. Our engineers will prepare an inspection report after each stage and provide it to the homeowner. The homeowner can then forward the report to the builder for corrective action.
